Is it the battery?
Common signs: the laptop shuts off with charge left, only works plugged in, or runs down much faster than it used to. On a Mac, Battery Health in System Settings says Service Recommended.
If the case bulges or the trackpad is hard to click, the battery may be swollen. Stop using it and bring it in.
Can it be upgraded?
An SSD or more memory can speed up an older laptop. Many newer laptops, including every MacBook with Apple silicon, have memory and storage built in and can’t be upgraded. Call us with your model and we’ll tell you.
